Croxley Green is both a village and a suburb of Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire, England. It is also a civil parish. Located on the A412 between Watford to the north-east and Rickmansworth to the south-west, it is approximately 20 miles north-west of central London.
In a particularly depressing turn of events, the beloved field at the end of my road has been sold to developers for a proposed housing development of 600 houses.
I’ve been here over 25 years now and we always said we’d move if this happened but the reality is :-(
For what it’s worth I built a little website resource library but in these days of information overload I’m not so sure if anyone would notice or need it.
Maybe I’ll just document what is here while it’s still here.
Much hand wringing but Croxley/Three Rivers stumbled into this by not having a decent development plan and Central Government will foist something huge on any area that failed this with bugger all concern for anyone who lives there already.
I don’t want to come across as NIMBY but this IS as Green Belt as it gets and NOT Grey Belt as Richborough claim.
It sold for the region of 40 Million so they will of course fill it with crappy houses with insufficient road or drainage infrastructure.
If anyone finds or wants me I’m up in my room and can build websites.
