Let’s Go To The Dance: A 60-minute compilation of 20 rocksteady songs from 1967–68, including “Let’s Go To The Dance” and “All My Loving”
Japanese curated collection of early Rocksteady and Ska from Prince Buster which has been beautifully mastered. Well worth Y1,800 of anyone’s money in my opinion on Bandcamp
This is really fine stuff and I was turned on to this Errol Dunkley tune from it by The Ezra Collective who are doing a residency at BBC6 music with a series of themed shows - last night being Jamaica which was packed solid with so many great tunes. I’m working through the track listing as there was some Jah Shaka among other gems.
Some bad news locally that The much loved Sportsman pub in Croxley (mentioned last week) is closing down - I say this as it had a great internet connected jukebox we’d hack into whilst necking some fine ales. Matt in particular would find a lot of great old reggae to play.
In an ideal world we’d take it over and drink ourselves stupid to a soundtrack of this stuff.
